Hello to you, my Grimdark army! Today I have exclusive news regarding not one, but TWO major-league authors and our amazing subreddit community, the promotion highlights, and some exciting updates on my debut that you don’t want to miss.
Let’s get into it.
Self-Promotion Highlights
First off, we have ‘TALES FROM VATNGAARD BOOK I – A World Void of Hope’.
A dark fantasy inspired by Nordic myth.
Kief, an assassin, is hired by the King of Atune to exterminate the Brotherhood of Bogus. A sect devoted to the god of Excess.
But as he hunts them down, Kief encounters Von, the goddess of hope. A moment that could change everything... But unfortunately for him, Von is out for blood.
Vatngaard is a realm, where worship and belief gives rise to gods. A vain, self-important, self-serving bunch. Because they are, after all, what we make them.
Only available on my website.

Our second most popular promo was by long-time community legend u/Safe-Ad-9623 who came in swinging with his ‘Favors Within Ashes (Sins of Starlight Collapse #1)’.
What would happen if Dark Souls and Game of Thrones would have an illegitimate child? (And Berserk as the Godfather?)
That child would be: Favors within Ashes (Sins of Starlight Collapse #1)
In Radiant Star, cheating death will not suffice, in order to cheat death, as Favors within Ashes submerges you under the pain of squinting eyes and clenching teeth.
Blood and obedience rules over the holy lands of Canoria, where the kiss of whips unleash orders and sharpened steel cuts the flesh of those who pretend not to have heard the snap!
Man created sin.
The completion of the largest temple ever to be raised in the continent of Dautrinias approaches. King Kristoff Lodort promises songs of celebration, gathering the purest of maidens, the mightiest kings, and the most beloved queens in Radiant Star for a festivity deemed to please the gods.
While the final brick is laid, Marco Doran is confined in between the Crown’s merciless rebirth knights and his struggle to prove his worth.
Unrest and tragedy surround the capital while the cold talons of heretics spread their poison over all that is holy.
Highborn and lowborn, none are truly safe, as the seed of deception and doubt sprouts from within the Lodort kingship.
There is only one way, through the pain!
Favors within Ashes is available as Paperback, Hardcover and eBook, and it contains hand drawn illustrations, made by the author himself, of the characters, animals and maps, available worldwide!

Our final Top Promotion was by u/Ordinary-Box5954 for ‘Warriors of Spirit and Bone’ where this author is looking for ARC readers.
Warriors of Spirit and Bone
I’m looking for ARC readers for my dark flowing into grimdark Moorcock inspired fantasy series (yes series-so 3 books available). First 2 books reviewed by indyman_123 in SFFInsiders https://www.sffinsiders.com/blog/review-a-dragon-of-the-veil-by-nick-snape. Think a realm where religious leaders have written lies into scripture that are revealed as a new enemy emerges, soul-magic, artifice/mech dragons possessed by tortured spirits, necromancers, soul-vampires, poisoned hordes amid which veterans of a Crusade are forced to search the realms for a way to hold off a race of macabre artificers whose detached spirits inhabit the newly dead. Books: A Dragon of the Veil (released) A City of Ashes (released) A Queen In Blood (16th September) Read more: https://books2read.com/DragonoftheVeil First 200 (I can dream) to sign up will receive all 3 books. Clearly time is tight so very flexible re 16th September for A Queen In Blood as I’m looking for reviews through the series Sign up at: https://www.nicksnape.com/aqueeninbloodarc

Anna Smith Spark AMA
I know you have been waiting for this bit of news, and I have been dying to tell all of you.
Anna Smith Sparks is coming on for her long-awaited AMA on Thursday the 11th September… just in time for the release of her new book. Without all of you who support the community, I wouldn’t be able to secure awesome events like this.
Thank you very much.
Famous Author Scott Lynch Is A Member of r/GrimdarkEpicFantasy!? AND HE WANTS TO DO AN AMA?
You did read the title correctly, this segment is about the extremely popular author Scott Lynch, scribe of the Gentleman Bastards series. Not only has he responded to my message and given a soft agreement for a future AMA, he also joined our community before replying!
That’s right, Scott Lynch is a lurker on r/GrimdarkEpicFantasy. I hope you think that’s as cool as I do.
The Shattered Line Cover Is Done!
The cover for The Shattered Line is completely finished!!!!! Woohoo!!
Don’t get too excited, I can’t show it to you just yet. The release of my cover and promoting the amazing artist who created it will be strategic and done within my larger campaign plan, but I am going to share a little teaser with you all for sticking around so long and supporting my mission.
For context, my story features a large cast of seven MC's over three main arcs and is my personal love-letter to epic fantasy as a lifelong reading enthusiast... with my own twisted Grimdark lens, of course.
Here is the elevator pitch I'm working with, I hope you enjoy.
A brutal dictator hunts a God-releasing Artefact to save a dying world... but salvation demands massacre.
A grieving father vows to rip his throat out or die trying.
A crew of thieves are blackmailed into stealing the Artefact before he uses it.
The universe has ended before.
This time, it could stay dead.
The Shattered Line Publication Timeline
The Shattered Line’s launch and publication are within sight. My editor and I are working on the copy and graphics for the campaign as we speak and we have a complete timeline from now to its release.
Hint: keep your eyes peeled early 2026.
The timeline looks like so:
September-October: Final editing pass.
November-December: Final manuscript polish.
You can expect to start seeing my marketing efforts for the Kickstarter launch begin from November to December, followed by (I hope) reviews and positive reception after I send out ARC’s to my reviewers. Hit me up if you want to be one of them!
Now that you know my schedule, keep a lookout for the beginning of the end.
That's all folks! I'll catch you on the next one, stay grim and unleash hell!
